CSX 6025, Ex-B&O 4125, is on W-001 at Ridgefield Park, NJ 11/9/2023. The first car is former SP 994527, the Birch Grove. It was built by Budd in 1950 for the Sunset Limited. How CSX acquired it is anyones guess, but it still runs in SP livery. Jacob Koppel answered this question: To answer your question about the 994527: In Spring 2021, CSX added 994527 SP Birchgrove private car to the W001 set. That was purchased at the same time as 994526; the moonlight dome/James M Foote car on the OCS. Both cars were from Mid Alantic Rail car. CSXT 994527 was former PPCX 800736 and part of AAPRCO. The 994527 was added to replace the lost dormitory/sleeper space from the old CSXT 994364 which was removed and retired from the W001 set in 2021. |
