Tom Beckett	General	Not used to the idea of wire at Red Bank. A million years ago-1981-I dated a girl who lived not far from the location of this photo. When we'd take the train down from NY, it was either GG 1's to South Amboy, and E 8's after that, or change at Newark from an Arrow of some sort, to a GP40P hauled ex CNJ schedule, and hand me down ex BN/GN cars. There was a tower here, Bank, that controlled the junction with the ex CNJ Southern Division, by then Conrail's Southern Secondary. I see the junction is still active, but I bet the tower is not, if it's even still there. How things change!!! I miss the G's and the E's, though I bet today's commuters are just as glad to have the more modern equipment now in service.	4/8/2024 5:07:22 AM
